Event Details:

The artwork Soft Assembly was developed by Cassanra Tytler through experiential mapping with Burswood Parkrun participants, conversations with researchers and ecologists, and research into how this place has been mapped, claimed and transformed over time.

Soft Assembly explores Burswood Park as a place composed of overlapping histories, movements and ecological relationships unfolding across different timeframes and sensory worlds. The work offers multiple ways of understanding and engaging with the park through moving image, sound, movement and collective composition.

Three participatory sessions will begin at 8.40am, 9.05am and 9.30am and run for approximately 20–25 minutes. Please register for your preferred starting time.

Participants will be invited to move slowly across the grass and interact with the work, so comfortable shoes are recommended. You are also welcome to attend and observe without taking part.

Photography and videography will occur at this event.

This event forms part of Cassandra Tytler’s project, Soft Assembly, which is part of her Know Thy Neighbour #4 residency in partnership with Town of Victoria Park.
