Jacky Cheng artist events at John Curtin Gallery
This weekend, Rural Utopias artist Jacky Cheng joins the John Curtin Gallery at Curtin University in an artist talk alongside Joshua Cocking, in which she will discuss her work ‘…that awaits at the end of life’, which recently awarded her the John Stringer Prize 2022. To follow, Jacky will facilitate a paper folding techniques and workshop, for a more tactile appreciation of her practice.

Rural Utopias event: Alana Hunt presents Nine Hundred and Sixty Seven at the Kununurra Picture Gardens
This weekend, Alana Hunt invites you to the Kununurra Picture Gardens for presentation of 'Nine Hundred and Sixty Seven', a video work chronicling the project summaries of every application submitted under Section 18 of the WA Aboriginal Heritage Act between 2010-20 requesting permission to "destroy, damage or alter an Aboriginal site". The screening also features a response by Waringarri Dancers performing Wangga & Lirrga.
