Join the SPACED Board of Directors!
SPACED is seeking an engaged and strategic thinker to join our Board of Directors, to help guide the organisation’s next chapter of artist residencies and community partnerships across Western Australia.
Established in 1998 and based in Boorloo/Perth, SPACED (International Art Space) is Australia’s longest-running artist residency program, commissioning socially engaged, context-responsive art across WA. Over 28 years, SPACED has commissioned 160 artists from 22 nations to realise 106 projects with 44 Western Australian communities, and eight international sites.
SPACED is looking for someone who brings strong leadership and governance experience, along with a commitment to supporting contemporary art in communities across Western Australia. Experience in corporate governance is essential, and we particularly welcome expressions of interest from people with backgrounds in Local Government (LGA), the not-for-profit sector, or government departments. Familiarity with community grant processes, public art, or community engagement is desirable, but not essential. The successful candidate will join the Board with the intention of transitioning into the role of Chair within 12 months.
This voluntary role is an opportunity to contribute to a unique arts organisation that connects artists and communities through socially engaged projects across Western Australia.
