IASKA'S

SPACED: art out of place

a recurring international event of socially engaged art

spaced: art out of place is a ground breaking initiative that brings together Australian and international artists with regional Western Australian communities to explore the relationships between globalisation and local identity

Conceived and coordinated by IASKA, this international biennial program of socially engaged art comprises a two-year cycle of residencies, exhibitions, publications and discussion. Throughout this program artists produce works that address global issues from a standpoint responsive to the distinctiveness of Australia's culture, society and natural environment.

spaced centres on current artistic practices that engage with everyday social situations and straddle the boundaries between science and technology, social activism, design and architecture.
